Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Ordinance is to contribute to improving citizens' quality of life, by enhancing their nutrition and health by certifying and supporting restaurants which boost sanitation levels, provide healthy food and elevate food culture in a proactive manner under the Food Sanitation Act and the National Health Promotion Act.

Article 2 (Definitions) The definitions of terms used in this Ordinance shall be as follows:
1. The term "general restaurant" means a restaurant referred to in subparagraph 8 of Article 21 of the Enforcement Decree of the Food Sanitation Act;
2. The term "sanitation grade" means a grade awarded after sanitation levels of general restaurants are evaluated pursuant to Article 47 of the Food Sanitation Act;
3. The term "healthy restaurant" means a general restaurant certified by the Seoul Metropolitan Government Mayor (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") which indicates nutritional ingredients of food and carries out activities, such as improving food culture and promoting anti-smoking within the place of business.

Article 3 (Duties of Mayor) (1) The Mayor shall create an environment where citizens can choose healthy food, and formulate and implement policies necessary for improving dietary life.
(2) The Mayor shall publicize healthy restaurants to ensure that they can be used more frequently.

Article 4 (Rights of Citizens) Citizens have a right to preferentially use certified healthy restaurants to improve their nutrition and health.

Article 5 (Obligations of Business Operators) A healthy restaurant business operator shall improve food culture, and cook and provide low-salt food which is healthy for citizens.

Article 6 (Certification of Healthy Restaurants) (1) The Mayor may certify a general restaurant with a high sanitation grade as a healthy restaurant pursuant to Article 47 of the Food Sanitation Act.
(2) Details, such as the standards, procedures, and methods for certifying healthy restaurants, shall be determined by the Rules.

Article 7 (Support for Healthy Restaurants) The Mayor may subsidize certification signs, etc. of healthy restaurants certified pursuant to Article 6, within budgetary limits.

Article 8 (Enforcement Rules) Matters necessary for the enforcement of this Ordinance shall be prescribed by the Rules.
