CHAPTER 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of this Ordinance is to contribute to improving the cultural lifestyles of the citizens and the development of local culture by prescribing matters necessary to systematically conserve, manage, and utilize modern and contemporary cultural heritage located in Seoul Metropolitan City.

Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in this Ordinance shall be defined as follows:

Article 3 (Principle for Conserving, Managing or Utilizing Future Heritage)
Future heritage shall be voluntarily conserved and managed by its owner, etc., and the original function of future heritage shall be maintained and utilized.

Article 4 (Mayor’s Responsibility)
The Mayor shall provide the citizens with active support for the voluntary conservation, management, and utilization of future heritage, and continuously pursue policies for establishing a system for the identification and management of future heritage.

CHAPTER 2 DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICIES
Article 5 (Formulation of Master Plans)
(1) For the conservation, management, and utilization of future heritage, the Mayor shall formulate a master plan on the conservation, management, and utilization of future heritage of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as "master plan") every five years, which shall include the following matters:

Article 6 (Formulation of Implementation Plans)
The Mayor shall formulate and execute a yearly implementation plan on the basis of a master plan prescribed in Article 5 (1) (hereinafter referred to as "implementation plan").

CHAPTER 3 ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF FUTURE HERITAGE CONSERVATION COMMITTEE OF THE SEOUL METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT
Article 7 (Establishment of Committee)
(1) The Future Heritage Conservation Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") shall be established to deliberate and render advice on the following matters related to the conservation, management and utilization of future heritage:

Article 8 (Composition of Committee)
(1) The Committee shall be comprised of up to 50 members including the Chairperson.

Article 9 (Chairperson)
(1) The Chairperson shall be elected from among and by the members of the Committee.

Article 10 (Meetings)
(1) A majority of the members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum, and any decision thereof shall require the concurring vote of a majority of those present.

Article 11 (Composition of Subcommittees)
Articles 9 and 10 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the operation of subcommittees, including the appointment of chairpersons, etc.

Article 12 (Dismissal of Members)
Where any member of the Committee falls under any of the following, the Mayor may dismiss him/her:

Article 13 (Allowances and Travel Expenses, etc.)
Allowances and travel expenses may be paid to members of the Committee, experts, etc. who participate in the investigation or deliberation of the Committee or a subcommittee, within the budget.

CHAPTER 4 SELECTION AND MANAGEMENT OF FUTURE HERITAGE
Article 14 (Selection of Seoul Future Heritage)
(1) Any one, including any citizen, organization, etc., may make a proposal to the Mayor for the selection of a certain object as Seoul future heritage.

Article 15 (Revocation of Selection of Seoul Future Heritage)
Where any Seoul future heritage selected pursuant to Article 14 (2) falls under any of the following, the Mayor may cancel its selection as Seoul future heritage:

Article 16 (Entrustment of Operation of Seoul Future Heritage Owned by Seoul Government)
(1) For the efficient management and operation of Seoul future heritage owned by the Seoul Government, the Mayor may delegate or entrust the management and operation of such future heritage to a corporation, organization, or autonomous Gu.

Article 17 (Recording and Promotion)
In order to promote citizens' understanding of future heritage, the Mayor shall record the values, current conditions, and other data of Seoul future heritage and actively publicize such information.

Article 18 (Administrative and Financial Support)
The Mayor may provide administrative and financial support for the identification, conservation, management, utilization, etc. of future heritage.

Article 19 (Enforcement Rule)
Necessary matters concerning the selection of Seoul future heritage, the issuance of written certification and marks, the cancellation of selection, etc., shall be prescribe by rule.
