Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Ordinance is to prescribe matters necessary to support the improvement of medical treatment in pediatrics in order to meet the medical care demands of the citizens of Seoul Metropolitan City and provide high-quality medical service.

Article 2 (Definitions) 1. The term pediatrics means a medical care department under the Medical Service Act and the Enforcement Rule of the Medical Service Act.
2. The term medical institution means an institution that falls under Articles 3(2)1 and 3 of the Medical Service Act, as a health and medical institution under subparagraph 4 of Article 3 of the Framework Act on Health and Medical Services.

Article 3 (Duties of the Mayor) (2) The Mayor shall endeavor in a positive way to prevent a medical blind spot in pediatrics.

Article 4 (Support Plan) (2) The Support Plan under paragraph(1) above shall include the following:
1. Objective and basic direction of such plan;
2. Matters relating to building of pediatric medical care system;
3. Matters relating to building the pediatric emergency medical care system;
4. Matters relating to cooperation with medical resource procurement agencies to improve on medical care in pediatrics;
5. Matters relating to financing; and
6. Other matters necessary to improve the medical care in pediatrics.

Article 5 (Support Projects) 1. Project to expand pediatric medical institutions;
2. Project to build the pediatric medical care system;
3. Survey of medical resources to provide pediatric medical care; or
4. Other projects that the Mayor recognizes as necessary to improve on pediatric medical care.

Article 6 (Support) The Mayor may provide, within a budgetary limit, the support necessary for the projects under Article 5.

Article 7 (Redemption) Where any medical institution subject to this Ordinance is provided with support in an improper way, the Mayor shall redeem such support without delay.

Article 8 (Building of Cooperation System) The Mayor may build the cooperation system with related medical institutions to improve on pediatric medical institutions.

Article 9 (Enforcement Rules)
