SEOUL METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE ON SUPPORT FOR PREGNANCY, CHILDBIRTH, AND PARENTING OF OR BY WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Ordinance is to contribute to the maternity protection and stable family life of women with disabilities, by prescribing matters related to the provision of, and support for, comprehensive services for pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting for women with disabilities.

Article 2 (Definition) The term "woman with disability" referred to in this Ordinance means a woman registered as a person with a disability under Article 32 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities.

Article 3 (Responsibilities of the Mayor) The Mayor of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") shall formulate and support policies necessary for the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting of or by women with disabilities.

Article 4 (Prohibition on Discrimination) With respect to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, any woman with a disability shall be entitled to maternity protection without facing discrimination on the ground of her disability.

Article 5 (Formulation of Plans, etc.) The Mayor shall formulate plans concerning the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting of or by women with disabilities, and reflect them in related policies, such as welfare policies for people with disabilities, healthcare policies, women policies, etc.

Article 6 (Fact-Finding Surveys) (1) The Mayor may conduct a fact-finding survey in order to formulate policies regarding the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting of or by women with disabilities, and utilize it in formulating plans.
(2) The implementation of a fact-finding survey under paragraph (1) may be entrusted to a corporation, specialized institutions, etc.

Article 7 (Support for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting) With respect to the pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting of or by women with disabilities, the Mayor may support the following projects, within the budget:
1. Projects for managing the health of pregnant women and infants;
2. Projects related to childbirth;
3. Projects related to parenting;
4. Projects for providing information regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting;
5. Other projects recognized as necessary by the Mayor to improve the welfare of women with disabilities.

Article 8 (Enforcement Rule) Necessary matters concerning the enforcement of this Ordinance shall be prescribe by Rule of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
