Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Ordinance shall be to contribute to the revitalization of the photography industry, the promotion of photography culture activities, the growth of the photography industry as a local culture industry, and the development of a balanced local economy and the promotion of the photography culture by stipulating matters necessary for the revitalization of the photography industry in Seoul Metropolitan City.

Article 2 (Definitions) In this Ordinance, the term "photograph industry" refers to engaging, as a professional, in the business of planning, production, exhibition, and sales of any creative works or articles of photography arts by industrial means under Article 2(1)2 of the Culture and Arts Promotion Act;

Article 3 (Duties) The Mayor of Seoul Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") shall endeavor to devise and enforce a policy for the revitalization of the photography industry in Seoul Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the "City").

Article 4 (Projects) (1) The Mayor may implement the following projects to promote the photography industry:
1. Research and service for the development of the photography culture;
2. Promotion by field of the photography industry;
3. Support for the promotion of photography culture activities, such as operation, public relation, etc. of culture and education programs; and
4. Other projects necessary for the promotion of the photography industry.
(2) The Mayor may consign specialized corporations, organizations, etc. with part of the projects under paragraph (1) above.

Article 5 (Support) The Mayor may support relevant autonomous Gus, corporations, organizations, etc. that promote the projects under Article 5 within a budgetary limit.

Article 6 (Citations) The Mayor may honor individuals, organizations, etc. that substantially contribute to the promotion of the photography industry under the Seoul Metropolitan Government Ordinance on Citations.

This Ordinance shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation.
