SEOUL METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT ORDINANCE ON THE SUPPORT FOR CHILD CARE DISASTER SUBSIDY

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this Ordinance shall be to contribute, where a child care disaster occurs as a serious disaster, to the reduction of child care burden on the guardian by providing child care disaster subsidy and overcome the child care disaster by supporting the healthy growth and development of infants and children.


Article 2 (Definitions) The terms used in this Ordinance are defined as follows:
1. The term "infants and children" refers to pre-schoolers under the age of six;
2. The term "child care disaster" refers to a disaster in which care of infants and children suffers damage, such as economic loss and damage incidental thereto, as infants and children do not receive care, education, etc. which they shall enjoy as their fundamental right for a long period of time due to the occurrence of disaster under subparagraph 1 of Article 3 of the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety.
3. The term "child care disaster subsidy" refers to money and valuables that the Mayor of Seoul Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") provides for infants and children, where a child care disaster occurs.


Article 3 (Duties of the Mayor) The Mayor shall endeavor to be able to secure financial resources necessary to provide child care disaster subsidies.


Article 4 (Relation with Other Ordinances) Except in cases specifically prescribed by the relevant ordinances concerning the support for child care disaster subsidies, what is prescribed by this Ordinance shall be followed.


Article 5 (Recipients) Child care disaster subsidies shall be provided for infants and children who reside and have their resident registration in Seoul Metropolitan City.


Article 6 (Support, etc.) (1) The Mayor may provide child care disaster subsidies within a budgetary limit.
(2) Child care disaster subsidies may be provided in cash, kind, gift certificate under the Seoul Metropolitan Government Ordinance on the Issuance and Operation of Seoul Love Gift Certificates.
(3) The Mayor shall prescribe matters necessary for time, amount, standards, method, etc. for the provision of child care disaster subsidies.


Article 7 (Redemption) Where it is found that a person who is not an intended recipient receives child care disaster subsidies, the Mayor shall redeem the subsidies.


Article 8 (Enforcement Rules) Matters required to enforce this Ordinance shall be prescribed as rules.

This Ordinance shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation.
