Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of this Ordinance is to contribute to the promotion of citizens' health by diffusing correct knowledge about health and by creating an environment in which citizens can practice a healthy life on their own in their daily lives so as to enhance citizens' values in health and their sense of social responsibility.

Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in this Ordinance shall be defined as follows:

Article 3 (Relationships to Other Statutes and Regulations)
Except as otherwise provided by other statutes and municipal ordinances, programs implemented by the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as the "Seoul Government") to encourage physical activities shall be governed by this Ordinance.

Article 4 (Responsibilities of Mayor, etc.)
(1) The Mayor of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") shall implement programs for the following purposes in order to formulate relevant policies and establish a system for systematic administrative assistance in implementing the policies, with which the Seoul Government can encourage physical activities for the promotion of health of citizens of the Seoul Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as "citizens"):

Article 5 (Formulation, etc. of Master Plans for Encouraging Citizens' Physical Activities)
(1) The Mayor shall formulate a master plan to encourage citizens' physical activities (hereinafter referred to as the "master plan") once every five years.

Article 6 (Formulation of Annual Implementation Plans for Encouraging Physical Activities)
(1) The Mayor shall formulate annual implementation plans to encourage physical activities (hereinafter referred to as "implementation plans") on the basis of the master plan formulated under Article 5.

Article 7 (Organization, etc. of Committee for Promotion of Physical Activities)
(1) The Mayor may organize and operate a committee for the promotion of physical activities (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") in order to promote citizens' physical activities.

Article 8 (Team for Assistance in Programs for Encouraging Physical Activities)
(1) The Mayor may organize a team for assistance in programs for encouraging physical activities so that experts from relevant fields can efficiently conduct preliminary examinations and perform their assignments. (2) Matters necessary for the organization and operation of a team for assistance in programs for encouraging physical activities shall be prescribed by municipal ordinance.

Article 9 (Allowances, etc.)
Attendance allowances and travel expenses may be paid to the experts who attend a meeting of the team for assistance in programs for encouraging physical activities, within budgetary limits.

Article 10 (Evaluation of Plans)
(1) The Mayor shall examine, analyze, and evaluate each agency's missions, goals, and performance indicators in the master plans and implementation plans and shall reflect the results thereof in administrative performance, etc.

Article 11 (Fostering of Programs for Encouraging Physical Activities)
If the Mayor deems it necessary for fostering programs for encouraging physical activities, he/she may directly participate in programs or may fully or partially subsidize City-invested or City-funded institutions, autonomous Gus, related institutions and organizations, individuals, etc. for expenses incurred in such programs.

Article 12 (Delegation or Entrustment of Programs for Encouraging Physical Activities)
(1) If the Mayor deems it necessary for fostering programs for encouraging physical activities, he/she may entrust part of administrative functions to City-invested or City-funded institutions, autonomous Gus, related institutions and organizations, individuals, etc.

Article 13 (Awards, etc. for Exemplary Cases)
The Mayor may search for exemplary cases for motivating participants in programs and award them.
